Kindle is a new product from Amazon that is a book reader device. This allows you to read your books via a 6″ display eyeshade on the device. Advantages include being able to download book through a wireless connection that connects directly to Amazons’ kindle store.
These books are also profusely cheaper than the paperbacks.

The links others have provided you should explain it adjectives. I am just posting to say that I am a Kindle user and LOVE mine!! My favorite features are: the imbedded dictionary so that you just click on a word within the book you are reading, and its definition pops up; the ability to change the size of the fonts; and the ease at clicking a book I want to purchase when scan Amazon's website, and voila...it is instantly on my Kindle! I love getting the FREE books that are frequently offered by publishers in order to entice readers to buy more from the respective authors. There are SO lots perks to having a Kindle!
I own the Kindle 2 and I like it extraordinarily much. Basically, Amazon produces this device, and it makes a lot of books become available in electronic newspaper (over 320,000 right now) so we can buy and read on the Kindle. I like it because I can buy books now at a cheaper rate compared to actual books, and I can replace all brawny books with this handy device. I can bring it wherever I want to, so I can utilize my time whenever I've some free time (like I'm waiting for friends, shuttle bus, or whatever).

I remember I read these reviews when I decided to procure my Kindle. Guess they will give you a good idea around it:

Finally, Amazon recently announced a price slash on the Kindle 2, and it is now selling $60 cheaper than the price I got my Kindle... So lug the chance if want one.

Hope it helps :) Source(s): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00154J… (Kindle 2 after price slash)
There is an article here talking in the region of how the Kindle works:

I like my Kindle 2 very much. Basically, Amazon provides books for the Kindle cheaper than actual books, it has save me quite a lot of money. Right now I've read over 10 books next to the Kindle, and I really like the idea that I can bring and store all files with the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, so even I read with the device for long hours, I don't feel tired. My single complaint is the white case, right now all the Kindles are within white color... I think it will be cool if I can have a black or deep blue color Kindle ;)

One more polite thing for the Kindle is that there are some websites providing free books for the Kindle. This site is the biggest, it provides over 20,000 free books available in Kindle format:

I'll suggest you to read this review too, it outlines slightly a lot of benefits of the Kindle, especially in the last two paragraph:

It's an e-book reader made and marketed by Amazon.com. If you go to Amazon's webpage there's an ad for it right in that, it's pretty hard to miss, actually, considering the size of it.
