Should a student grasp the Kindle DX or the Kindle 2?

I am a undergraduate college student, and I will be going on to Law School soon. As a student is it worth it to invest in a Kindle? Is there a diverse selection of college textbook offered on the Kindle? Is the prices for them reasonable?

Also as a student, if I do decide to move to the option of the Kindle, should I invest within the Kindle 2 or the Kindle DX.

I would love to get many different perspectives from, undergrad college and directive students. Maybe professors, please tell me what you think?

The Kindle 2 is definitely worth the investment, but not for textbooks. Avoid it if that would be its primary use... Otherwise, jump for it! There's way to much info to type here, so I found an article that can tell you about special features and things similar to that. Hope it helps :) Source(s): The Amazon Kindle

I'm a college student and I've the Kindle 2. I've got a few of my college textbook on my Kindle, and they are cheaper than their paper version textbooks. Not tons textbooks are available for the Kindle right now, but I expect there'll be more after some time, because the 3 main textbook publishers have signed contract with Amazon, and that accounts for 60% of textbook publication.

The Kindle DX has all the benefits of the Kindle 2, so I do have an idea that the Kindle DX is even better than the Kindle 2. I'm fine to read some large textbook on my Kindle 2, just change the font size and I can read them in good health. But I do think bigger screen will help readability, especially for roomy textbooks.

For my Kindle 2, I've to say I love it! I think I've read over 20 books next to my Kindle, no glitches so far! I love my Kindle because it has helped me improve seriously on my efficiency and utilize my time. Before I owned the Kindle, waiting time like when I'm waiting for friends or waiting for shuttle bus or some thing approaching that is simply wasted. Now I just requirement to bring the Kindle along with me. Another thing I like the most is the text-to-speech function, which way I can "read" books without even holding or looking at the Kindle. Now I like to use this function when I've myself busy on some boring things, say when I'm on the step device or doing some housework...

At the beginning I missed a bit on the feeling of reading books. But now I love to hold the Kindle, the e-ink seem to work very well, it is really like reading books... Now I repeatedly read with the Kindle for several hours but I don't feel tired...

And in casing you don't know, books for the Kindle are cheaper than that of actual books. Amazon also provides quite a lot of free or very cheap books:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i… (over 30,000 Kindle books which are lower than $1)

I'll recommend you to read this review on Kindle DX too:

And right now seems the Kindle DX is out of stock, so if you want to get the device briskly you should better go for the Kindle 2. If you want the DX, order now and they will put you within the first come first serverd queue and send it to you once it is available. I've a friend ordered it around 3 weeks ago, and just got it yesterday!

Hope this help your decision. Source(s): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00154J… (Kindle 2)

Yes, there will be more and more college textbook be available, and they will be cheaper than actual books. See this discussion for details:

I love my Kindle 2 very much. If you are thinking of buying the Kindle 2 or DX, I'll say bring back it and you won't regret. Since Amazon provide books for the Kindle cheaper than actual books, it has saved me quite seriously of money. Right now I've read over 10 books with the Kindle, and I really like the notion that I can bring and store all the books with the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, so even I read next to the device for long hours, I don't feel tired. My only complaint is the white case, right very soon all the Kindles are in white color... I think it will be cool if I can own a black or deep blue color Kindle ;)

In my opinion Kindle DX will be better for reading textbooks, as sometimes they enjoy large graphics. You may be able to find some textbooks within PDF format and it will be helpful with the native PDF support of Kindle DX. Read this review and it should know how to help you decide whether to go for the Kindle DX or Kindle 2:

Hope this help.
