Does the investigational Kindle 2 or DX come contained by any color bar white?
I want to buy one that is actually colored, but all I can find are stickers to put on a white kindle.

Same here. I also want to buy a a black or insightful blue color Kindle, but right now all the Kindles come with white suitcase. And I know many girls want a red Kindle... Guess Amazon can boost up their sales if they really launch some colored Kindles ;)
My solution is to buy a really good armour for it. I never leave my Kindle without the case, so I consistency better... Here is the case I choose:

BTW, I love my Kindle 2 very much. If you are thinking of buying one, I'll say catch it and you won't regret. Since Amazon provide books for the Kindle cheaper than actual books (even for new books), it has saved me pretty a lot of money. Right now I've read over 10 books with the Kindle, and I really similar to the idea that I can bring and store all the books near the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, so even I read with the device for long hours, I don't feel tired.
