Answers:
Well, if they were pirated copies, I don't blame them. People were refunded.
Because they are published by people who do not themselves own the rights of the book.

You can still find the two books in Kindle publication here, which are published by actual right owners:

When something has prevented the continued sale of a book, game, movie or doesn`t matter what, no one has ever gone back through the collection and tried to track down and remove the copies already sold.

Since Amazon is able to directly control content on a user's Kindle, they've gone ahead and decided to make this verbs items already "sold". Ban future sales, but don't take rear legs what was sold.

I never knew Amazon had such control back. That's a strike against the Kindle. I can see a future where Amazon goes posterior and censors/edits a book I've already purchased while I'm in the middle of reading it!
They are one and only removing them because they don't like them. They have know taste. All of those books are classics.
