How much cheaper are books bought online for the Kindle device?
I'm thinking about buying a Kindle from Amazon. The pros are pretty clear: environmentally friendly, compact, and low price for new books. But how much cheaper are electronic book copies compared to traditional paperbacks? I'm hoping it's at least 50% cheaper; the $229 price for the Kindle itself is a bit alarming.

I love my Kindle 2 very much. If you are thinking of getting a Kindle, I'll say get hold of it and you won't regret. Since Amazon provide books for the Kindle cheaper than actual books, it has saved me quite seriously of money. Right now I've read over 10 books with the Kindle, and I really like the perception that I can bring and store all the books with the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, so even I read near the device for long hours, I don't feel tired. My only complaint is the white case, right presently all the Kindles are in white color... I think it will be cool if I can hold a black or deep blue color Kindle ;)

It depends on what books you buy. Some Kindle books are more than 50% discount compared to paperbacks, some are smaller amount than 50%. It'll definitely save you quite profoundly of money as you buy more books year after year.

It can save quite a great deal of money in long term. For me, I think I've read over 30 books near my Kindle after I got it a few months, no glitches so far! It has saved me at lowest $150 already in buying books...

Finally, I think you are lucky that Amazon recently announced a price slash on the Kindle 2. It is now selling $60 cheaper than the price I get my Kindle... So take the chance.

All books are $9.99. It is other especially on new release hardcover books that are easily $25. Plus, you do not have adjectives the clutter of books but you still get to keep them. I think the Kindle have a lot of positive aspects, I am putting it on my Christmas list :)
New bestselling books are 9.99. That's the average cost of books on Kindle. However, you can get elder titles, like classic literature, for virtually free.....some books ARE free. They have specials a lot where on earth a publisher offers a book free in order to hopefully entice you to buy more by alike author. If you go to Amazon.com and click on the Kindle books, choose to rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive (after you narrow the rummage through to fiction or horses or whatever you want to read about. You will be amazed at the free titles. I just downloaded a sci fi/fantasy/mystery for the cost of a penny! Wouldn't swap my Kindle for anything!!
