It's ugly and unwieldy, but that's just details.The biggest problem is that Americans read less than 1 book a year, but the Kindle's target consumers are inhabitants who are bookworms and who read literally dozens a year. Unfortunately, those people are most resistant to such tech fads and they prefer the old fashioned book.
Oh sure, I'm sure in that will be few people which will run out and buy it for Christmas, but will they be using it a year from now? My guess is no.
I would say that it is a great move in the direction of the adjectives. However I would also say that it is not worth the price unless you are reading many books on the go. It is a completely nice unit, but unless the price goes down, it won't be replacing many thorny copy books.
If you have the money to spend on that, it has many fitting features, such as wireless browsing and downloading of books, along with relatively good battery energy.
I was a little ambivalent about it, and said I wouldn't buy one until the price comes down....
But I ordered one today, get 30 bucks off with the amazon visa, and I get points on the amazon visa for purchasing it.
Still expensive, but that's my Christmas grant to myself.
It say's it won't ship until after Christmas, hopefully I will get it before then.
