Transfer Kindle 2 book to my kindle DX ?
I want to upgrade and transfer all my books over to the DX version, is in that any way to keep copies of the books on the kindle 2 as in good health?
The reason I am considering this is the DX would be to large to read, say within bed, but I would want the DX for during the day..
Also, is it possible to put PDF files onto the DX directly from my computer without using Amazon at all ?
Answers:
I've read the other answers, seem some are linking to the steps that allow you to keep books on both of your Kindle devices already. So I not going to repeat that.
For PDF, you can just copy your PDF files directly from your computer through USB cable, so no need to connect to Amazon. See the third paragraph here:

Indeed, I've be seriously considering to upgrade to Kindle DX after reading that review... Source(s): I'm a Kindle 2 owner ;)
I think it is a great verdict for you to get two Kindle devices if you can afford the money. I remember I read this review and the author also owns two Kindles too (he owns the Kindle 1 and the Kindle DX):

You can transfer books and subscriptions from one Kindle to another in three ways:
1. Schedule delivery of books from your computer to your Kindle DX: Visit the Manage Your Kindle page and scroll down to the “Your information and individual charges” section. Select the Kindle DX listed in the “Download/Send to” drop-down choices.
You can programme delivery of your existing books before your Kindle DX even arrives. Your books will be automatically downloaded to your Kindle when you turn on the device, as long as you’re in wireless catalogue.
2. Wirelessly download books directly from your Kindle DX: Select “Archived Items” from the Home screen or “View Archived Items” from the menu. Select the item from there.
3. Transfer a periodical subscription from one Kindle to another: From the Manage Your Kindle page, scroll down to the “Your Active Kindle subscriptions” page. Under “Deliver adjectives editions,” select the Kindle you’d like to use for the subscription and click “Save.” Source(s): http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i…
I really be in awe of that you can have 2 Kindles. I'm still saving my money, and will get a Kindle DX once I stockpile enough money. There is an interesting discussion here about how many nation have 2 Kindles:
