Power saw for kindling?
I make a fire every nite, and I go thru a lot of kindling. I'm tired of using a handsaw to cut it into pieces, (tree limbs). Is in attendance a good inexpensive power saw I can use? I don't need a chain saw, only something to cut 2" to 4" diameter tree limbs. Any suggestions?

There's power saws at walmart for $50.
If the limbs are detached, return with an electric miter saw. They will cut through 4"s in a hurry. You just chop down and it's done! If the limbs are ackward or attached to the body of a tree, a recipricating saw will clear short work of them. It's like an overgrown carving knife-get a 6 inch blade.If you're in a city with a Harbor Freight tool store, they deal in them dirt cheap otherwise a Home Depot or similar will have them. Be careful!!

I'm afraid that a chain saw is the only tool you can use given the quality of what you want to do.
HOWEVER, if you want to go to the alternate expense of buying a battery powered tool, get a 18v reciprocate saw and wood cutting blades. It is portable-will go to the wood, tough and has a "shoe" that permit the blade to use it as a restraint to small dia liimbs for easy cutting.
Just keep the freestyle charged up in its charger and you are all set.

bring back a sawzall, there are different types some with cords and some portable. they work very powerfully for what you are trying to do, I recommend a portable (keep the batteries charged though)
