Unfortunately, no.
The Amazon Kindle (aka AmazonKindle) is exclusively an Amazon product and therefore will only be sold through Amazon. They have no plans to extend it for sale offline or anywhere else because they don't have to. They are the world's number online retailer. They can make much more money selling the Amazon Kindel themselves.
The perceptible question is how come Apple with it's iTunes store will sell iPods anywhere. Why isn't this true for the AmazonKindle? Because Apple relies on retailers to put on the market all it's hardware. Apple is a manufacturer not a retailer. They can't anger the people who vend their stuff.
