Book reader what would you choose for a Christmas present - Sony Reader or Amazon Kindle and why?
The books I read are normally large - I commute and read - ALWAYS.
Also, for you military readers out nearby - what types of books do you read to "clear the strategic mind"? My mind clearing books are normally about actors.

The guys in the military read closely of action books. I sent several of I Am Legend overseas at their request. Me, I like the good ole paperback books.
Neither. I'd prefer a good old-fashioned book.
I don't know the reader you mention. I use my 4gb Ipod Nano. I purchase books online and then download them to my ipod. I do a lot of traveling and keep at tiniest 3 books on my ipod, lots of space still for music, if I do want a break. Also got a little converter thingy that allows me to play the books through my vehicle radio. This was my best gift ever.
I still do excecise my mind by reading actual books when I'm home and have at tiniest two books (one real, one audible) going at any given time. Source(s): see www.audible.com for books to download.

Wow...I never heard of those items until I read your give somebody the third degree!! That is the coolest thing I've seen yet! I am a Sony adherent in general (knowing nothing more or less these particular products), but it seems the Kindle is more popular because they are already sold out!!

I would manifestly want the sony reader. My mom has one and she loves it! She can download books easily and take it anywhere because it is so compact. This is a fixed for the avid reader who buys their books!

kindle is cool bcause the free interenet.
Sony is cool because it have a better screen (2nd gen). Plus is just looks cooler and has a better surface.
I have a 2 gig card in mine and I still own 1.8 gig free

my choice was the sony. I am buying this to read. I can just as well download the books with a computer connection and charge it at alike time.
I have a Sony EBook reader and an older RCA (Rocket) Ebook reader. The RCA used a proprietary format, and later version were DRM'd to the point that it killed the product.
The Sony allow you to read pdf and text files as powerfully as its proprietary format, has the electronic paper display is a nice slim design. The info I have on the kindle shows that it includes cellular wireless, and some messaging means, but I don't know if it allow you to load non proprietary content.
My main gripe with the Sony iis that it doesn't support html (mine is a bit older model, the current version may be different.)
Sorry, I never heard of either of those. I read paper back & Stephen King is my fav too! :) Rose Matter is an awesome book!
