Can the Kindle 2 or DX read personal .txt files.?
I am well aware of the Kindle 2 and DX's ability to read audibly to the user, but is this feature singular available for kindle files off of Amazon or will it work for self imported txt, or .doc files?
I'm fairly abiding it will not work for personal pdf files but verification will be appreciated.

I'm a Kindle 2 owner. No, it doesn't work for any self import files. It only works for Kindle books from Amazon, if the book's publisher hasn't block the function. I seldom find books have the function blocked though...

No, they cannot. The Kindle can only read books aloud for Kindle books.
