How long would it bear for kindle to read a 250 page book?
i have no time to read but spend a lot of time in the saloon. i would like to know how long it would take for kindle to read to me a book that contains 250 pages

That depends on the font size, pictures and the number of words per page.
I remember it takes around partially a minute for the Kindle to read a page, when I try its text-to-speech function. So guess it will take around 2 or 3 hours for reading a 250 pge book. You can control the speed of reading in the setting of the Kindle.

I've the Kindle 2 and I approaching it very much. I like to use the read aloud function of the Kindle too, it is enjoy to read with hands free. I think it take around 30 - 40 seconds for reading a page. Of course, it depends on how many words on the page.

Some authors may choose to disable to the text-to-speech function for his/her book, but from my experience it is only a minority. BTW, the Kindle 2 just had a price drop so it is even more worth to go and get it right now.
