Anyone own a Kindle and live outside the US? Please bring up to date me how you use it.?

My wife and I are moving out of the US to Europe for my job and she would like to get a Kindle DX (that's the larger, more expensive one) back we leave.

We're wondering how it will work once outside of the US -- we understand that the free wireless service will not be available, which leaves us with wired syncing.

Therefore I own a few questions:
- Can I load books and other content onto the device from a PC through a USB cord?
- How is content downloaded to my computer? I see on Amazon.com that they have a Kindle Books unit but every book I look at says delivery is wireless. Since I won't have wireless connectivity, how, consequently, is content delivered to the Kindle?

I feel like I've looked and looked and this information is not forthcoming anywhere I've looked.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Kind… indicates wired syncing is possible, but I would resembling to know more details about buying a Kindle and using it abroad.

We're assuming that Kindle will not be available in Europe in the past long since they keep saying it's coming and it doesn't come because Amazon is having trouble getting deal with wireless operators.

Thank you for your help.
Answers:
Yes, if you buy the Kindle DX when you're contained by the U.S., you can have it work when you're in Europe (all functions, other than Whispernet, will work). There is a awfully good discussion about using the Kindle outside the U.S. here:

So to answer your questions:
- You can nouns Kindle books or your own PDF files through USB to the Kindle, just by a drag and drop on your PC
- Guess you must have internet access when you're in Europe, right? Just use your PC to run to Amazon website and login your account, and you'll be able to download the Kindle books to your computer. See the above link for detail steps.

There is also a perfect article here talking about how to get the most out of the Kindle DX, see if you're interested:

You can have everything work in Europe for the Kindle. It won't have internet access, but every other things will work. See here nearly using the Kindle in Canada (just the same as the case of Europe), especially the message from Chris J. Knappett sa:

I enjoy the Kindle 2 and I like it very much. It brought me a lot of convenience. I've be seriously considering to upgrade to the Kindle DX, however. This is the review of the Kindle DX that I've read:

Hope this helps.
