Can I store my own Books surrounded by ".pdf or .doc" format contained by an Amazon Kindle?

Can I storage my own information through the wireless port? or is it only Amazon Books that can be stored?, Does the Kindle come with any cables?

(I live within Venezuela so I don't bump into someone with a Kindle everyday)
Answers:
You can copy PDF and DOC format files to the Amazon Kindle through USB cable which comes with the Kindle.

And here is a good site where you can find over 20,000 free books for the Kindle device:

I suggest you to read this review too, it outlines quite a lot of benefits for the Kindle and why it is worth especially at the end of the review:

I own the Kindle 2 too. And I've bought this insurance so I can use it lacking any worry of breaking it (if it breaks I'll have replacement for a new one):

Yes, you can. Just copy the files through USB cable come with the Kindle. It works alike for the Kindle 2 and the Kindle DX.

And you may want to choose the Kindle DX if you need to read a lot of PDF foramt files. There are some very fitting comparison between the two here:

The Amazon Kindle comes with an USB cable. Yes, you can just copy your own books to the Kindle device through the USB cable. See here for certified page with full information:

Do you have an U.S. credit card and shipping address? If so, you can just use the Kindle and return with books on it in Venezuela without problem. The only point that doesn't work is the Whispernet (the free wireless network comes with the Kindle, which is only available within the U.S.) See here about how to use the Kindle in Mexico, it'll just work one and the same in other place:

I own the Kindle 2 and I like it very much. Don't verbs about breaking it. Just get a good cover and it will be economically protected. If you still worry you can get the 2 years extended warranty. I recommend this cover (it has one for DX altered copy too):

And just in case you don't know, Amazon have recently put a price slash on the Kindle 2, it is now selling $60 cheaper than the price I got my Kindle... So pinch the chance if you want it.

Hope it helps :) Source(s): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00154J… (Kindle 2 after price slash)
I construe if you get the kindle 2 or th dx you can store your own date but not with wireless. btw i wouldn't get the kindle dx it's really expensive and if you read the reviews it breaks far to slickly and then amazon will find a way to hold you responsible not send a hot one.
