Whats better the kindle or the sony reader?
im looking at the Sony reader because i like the touch screen and its a little thicker and wont break as flowing
the kindle on the other hand has the 3 g network so its easier to procure a book its also been out longer so i guess the programming would be better, i guess.
does any one own a kindle? can they say if its durable. id be carrying it contained by a shoulder bag on the bus to work as well as at home. i dont need 1k books within one, the 250 is enough for me.
thanks for all the help out

The Kindle lacking a thought. It just had a price drop yesterday, and it is now selling $259. Why not if you can own both the device and books cheaper compared to Sony Reader? It is the books that we can get is important.

The Amazon kindle has a bigger variety of books and whatnot to choose from. It is always connected to a special see that allows you to download texts anywhere and anytime, assuming you are in an area that get service (just like w/ a cell phone). For that reason alone, I would buy the kindle.
What's the point of spending the money on a sony reader if it's library isn't as vast as the kindle?
I own the Kindle 2, so let me give you some of my opinion. I've to say I love it! I think I've read over 30 books with my Kindle, no glitches so far!
For durability, I don't ponder the Kindle will break unless you drop it. I always protect it with a cover, so it is quite safe and sound. I know someone will get the 2 years warranty, but I haven't get it. You may consider to use one of these covers (I use the first one), they protect the Kindle very resourcefully:

I've some friends having the sony reader, but they often complain that it is difficult to find some books on their readers. Also, they found that I can draw from quite a lot of books cheaper than they can... So some of them are planning to switch to the Kindle when they get a latest reader...
Be careful of the touch screen as well. It wishes a sensitive layer to the screen, and I heard some relatives saying that it makes the screen glower. In my opinion, touch screen may not be good for ebook reader, as we need to read a lot with the blind...
BTW, I remember I read this review when I decided to get the Kindle:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i…
Finally, the Kindle 2 has only just slashed in price, and it is now selling $60 cheaper than the price I got mine. So I give attention to it is a good chance if you want it.
Hope it helps :) Source(s): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00154J… (Kindle 2 after price slash)

I have the Kindle 2. I think Amazon Kindle is better as compared to Sony. You can read here:

I own the Kindle 2 and I like it extremely much. It is better than Sony Reader because Amazon provide good content support, and the number of books available in Kindle format is kept on increasing (right now in that are over 350,000 Kindle books). Sony Reader, however, many users complain that it is difficult to find suitable books, and books on it are more expensive than the Kindle. Other benefits of the Kindle over Sony Reader include the free wireless internet access, and the text-to-speech function.
If you need to read PDF with charts and graphics, you may want to jump for the Kindle DX. Read this review and you should be able to decide which one to get:

I other have my Kindle protected by cover. I've also got the 2 years extended warranty, so I don't have to verbs about breaking it within 2 years. You can consider getting it as well:

Where can I buy a kindle?
I really want one for Christmas but they are on back order for 11 or 13 weeks!?! And I've already checked eBay but they're like $800. They are one and only available via Amazon. Anyone trying to sell it in eBay is taking advantage of the backorder situation. Don't leak for that. You shouldn't...
