Advice needed on the Kindle?

I don't know enough about it to know if it is worth the cost. I am disabled and it would be wonderful to just listen to books. And I hatred to dust, so only one Kindle vs. books..easy answer. But what are the pros and cons for buying one? Not only am I disabled, I'm a widow who is pretty much housebound, so I am only just looking to find another option for entertainment. Is there another electronic device better? Call me clueless on this one.

I wrote a review of the kindle reader2 at

I personally dream up the kindle is the best digital e-book reader on the market. With all the features, mainly the paper to speech feature, and the storage capacity. Check out my review to help your decree making process.
I own the Kindle 2, so let me provide you some of my opinions. I've to say I I love it! I think I've read over 20 books next to my Kindle, no glitches so far!

What I like the most is exactly the text-to-speech function, because it means I can "read" books without even holding or looking at the Kindle. Now I similar to to use this function when I'm tired after work, it is just like listening to someone who is unfolding you stories...

And just in case you don't know, Kindle books, magazine and newspapers are cheaper than the actual paper version. Amazon also provides fairly a lot free or very cheap books. I remember I read these reviews about the benefits of the Kindle when I fixed to buy it:

Yes, there are video games or ipods for entertainment, but I don't think they are better than the Kindle. Even if you don't want to pay extra to buy books, within are so many free valuable books that you can get and they can save you entertained for years. Sometimes I'm lazy to get a book to read, but next to the Kindle it is so handy that I like to hold it even if I'm watching on some TV programmes.

Finally, you are lucky that Amazon just announced a price slash on the Kindle 2. It is now selling $60 cheaper than the price I get my Kindle...

Hope it helps :) Source(s): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00154J… (Kindle 2 sales page)
I love my Kindle 2 very much. If you are thinking of buying a Kindle, I'll say acquire it and you won't regret. Since Amazon provide books for the Kindle cheaper than actual books, it has saved me quite deeply of money. Right now I've read over 10 books with the Kindle, and I really like the view that I can bring and store all the books with the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, so even I read next to the device for long hours I don't feel tired, and there is study that it won't hurt my eyes. My only complaint is the white suitcase, right now all the Kindles are in white color... I reflect on it will be cool if I can have a black or deep blue color Kindle ;)

I'll suggest you to read this review from a top reviewer, it outlines quite closely of benefits of the Kindle and also why it is worth especially at the end of the review:
