Can you type and put aside schoolbook on a kindle?
I mean, if I wanted to write a short story, could I type and save it on a Kindle? I know you can annotate Kindle text but can you write a whole new document? Does it have some variety of word processing software? If you can, could you somehow transfer it to a PC to be printed?
So:
1) Can you write new text?
2) Can you after print it?
Answers:
Yes, you can edit text file consequently get it back to PC to print it. But the small keypad may not allow you to do everything as efficient as you're on the PC...

There isn't any special word processing software on the Kindle, but you can type simple text. I think you can do the chore, but since the keypad of the Kindle is quite small, don't expect you can do the job very proficiently...
I would rather focus on other benefits of the Amazon Kindle if you want to buy it. Read this review which outlines quite a lot of benefits of the Kindle. If they suit your entail then go and get it. But if you still with the sole purpose want to use it as word processing, I guess you won't think it is worth... So read here to see if you can make up your decision:

You can write in two ways:
1. Type into TXT fil eon the Kindle, then copy the TXT file to your PC through USB cable, next print it. You can copy the TXT file back and forth so you can edit it on both the Kindle and your PC
2. Type as email message, consequently get the email at your PC computer to print it.

I've the Kindle 2 and I like it very much. Just within case you don't know, Amazon has slashed its price last week, and it is selling $100 cheaper than the price I get mine at the beginning of this year... Oh no... but I do think it is a good providence if you want it...
