Reading with the Kindle is extraordinarily much like reading a book. You can read this, it is written by a person who described himself as a sucker for technology:

I've a Kindle 2, and I'm an avid reader too, so let me give you some of my opinions. I've to enunciate I love it! I think I've read over 30 books with my Kindle, no glitches so far!
I like reading and at the foundation I did miss a bit on the feeling of reading books. But now I love to hold the Kindle, the e-ink seems to work incredibly well, it is really like reading books... Now I often read next to the Kindle for several hours but I don't feel tired... And I now prefer to manage adjectives books inside the Kindle rather than my never big enough bookshelf...
One of the reasons I love my Kindle is that it have helped me improve a lot on my usefulness and utilize my time. Before I have the Kindle, waiting time like when I'm waiting for friends or waiting for shuttle bus or some thing close to that is simply wasted. Now I just want to bring the Kindle 2 along with me, and all my favorite books are inside it. Another thing I approaching the most is the text-to-speech function, which means I can "read" books without even holding or looking at the Kindle. Now I like to use this function when I've myself busy on some boring things, influence when I'm on the step machine or doing some housework...
And just in luggage you don't know, Kindle books, magazines and newspapers are cheaper than the actual paper variation. Amazon also provides quite a lot free or very cheap books. I remember I read these reviews almost the benefits of the Kindle when I decided to buy it:

Finally, a good news for you that Amazon have just put a price slash on the Kindle 2, and it is now selling $100 cheaper than the price I got my Kindle... So purloin the chance if you want it.
Hope it helps :) Source(s): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00154J… (Kindle 2 after price slash)
It is an electronic device, but it is the best device designed for reading right now. You can read the second last paragraph here something like how the device feel compared to paperback, from an actual user point of view:

I think it is a business of habbit. We like books because we are holding books since childhood. But ebooks will be the trend, and we must be getting more and more used to it. I know quite a lot of book lovers even find that the Kindle is simulating reading experience completely well, and they can simply forget they are holding the Kindle device when they are reading...
Read this article too, it is the best review I've ever read:

I love my Kindle 2 deeply much. If you like to read books, I'll say you'll definitely similar to the Kindle. Since Amazon provide books for the Kindle cheaper than actual books, it has saved me quite closely of money. Right now I've read over 10 books with the Kindle, and I really like the opinion that I can bring and store all the books with the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, it is really clear approaching reading books; and even I read with the device for long hours, I don't feel tired. My only complaint is the white bag, right now all the Kindles are in white color... I contemplate it will be cool if I can have a black or deep blue color Kindle ;)
I suggest you to read this review from a top reviewer who is also a book lover. She also worries about losing the fear of book at the beginning, but it turns out that she like it. The review outlines quite greatly of benefits of the Kindle, and also why the Kindle is worth especially at the end of the review:

BTW, there are some website like this one, where on earth you can find more than 20,000 free books for the Kindle. So no need to go to library to borrow them, you can actually own them:

Hope this help.
It's worth it, especially if you travel a lot.
