Amazon Kindle vs. Sony ebook reader Questions?

Okay so i live in Canada and i have been lately looking into both the amazon kindles and sony ebook readers and i have some question :)
1. Are they available in Canada yet? If not when?
2. What are the prices for each?
3. In your judgment which is best?
And if you can give any extra info on them that would be awesome thanks :)
Answers:
First, I live in the US so I can't tell you about availibility or prices contained by Canada. For Kindle info, go to Amazon.com and you'll see a link there. For Sony e-Book Reader, jump to SonyStyle.com. FYI: Sony will be releasing a new reader at the end of August.

As far as rating the two, one thing you necessitate to consider is that very few people have used both, so it's exceptionally hard to give an unbiased comparison. I enjoy had the first Sony (PRS 500) since it came out and at that time there be no such thing as a Kindle. There have been two up to date Sony models since then too. The down-side to the Kindle is that the Sprint signal that it uses, is not available in many areas, including where on earth I live. There is no way to connect the Kindle to the computer so a user would have to drive to somewhere that they can pick up that signal just to download a book. It would be closer for me to drive to a bookstore than to an nouns where I could get the Sprint signal. So, that's a very high-status thing to determine before choosing the Kindle. On Amazon, there is a connect to a map that shows coverage areas.

As for the Sony, I really love mine even though their newer versions are even better. New features include a search function and updated software that will allow the user to download Google public domain books, which are free. Another feature contained by Sony's favor is the ability to use a memory stick pro duo or an SD card for greater capacity.

While they are both similar in frequent ways, they are also very different in some significant ways. I would highly recommend the Sony to a friend, and I own. But, each user needs to give consideration to the different features and capabiities as okay as to the price. You could also go to BestBuy.com and search it there. I know they go it online, so you could read some reviews there too. I would recommend that you keep an eye out for the release of the new Sony -- it's going to be their least possible expensive one. One other point about the Sony: if you apply for the Sony Card and put the purchase on that account, they often hold a promotion where if you spend so much, you get $100 credit on your first bill and sometimes they also have nil interest. I DONT KNOW!! SORRY:(
1. Unless you've a US credit card and a US shipping address, otherwise you can't get the Kindle and any books for the Kindle... See the request for information "Is Kindle available to customers outside the United States?" here:

So even if you have ways to get the Kindle device, it will still be a headache to get books on it.

I one and only heard of plans from Amazon to launch the Kindle in UK. However, it is talked for over a year, doesn't give the impression of being to have any progress yet. It should be some issue on export laws.

2. $299 for the Kindle 2, around $270 for Sony Reader

3. The Kindle is right inside the U.S. However, the best thing of the Kindle - free wireless internet access, is not available outside the United States. So I'll suggest you to go for the Sony Reader instead, which is the best alternative of the Kindle. There is a good review here:

Hope it help. Source(s): http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i… (Sony Reader)
