Will I know how to download books I already own onto the Barnes and Noble Nook if I draw from one?
and how does it work? How can I put my books on my bookshelf onto the Nook itself? It says it supports other files but I just don't understand how it works....If anyone can explain within the simpliest way possible it'd help a bunch!!

The Nook say it supports other files, meaning that if you have e-books on your computer, then in attendance is a chance that you can copy them to the Nook and read on them (of course, the e-books need to be in format supported by the Nook). However, you cannot put physical books that are on your bookshelf onto the Nook.
There is benefit of ebook reader, however. There are some website like this one, where you can find more than 20,000 free books for ebook readers approaching the Amazon Kindle. So no need to go to library to borrow them, you can actually own them:

i was thinking like peas in a pod thing because i have a ton of barnes and noble classics books that are offered as ebooks. it suck that not at your best have to repurchase all them. they SHOULD start a program where you can turn contained by your hard copy of books and get the ebook free, but i doubt that will happen.
If the books are surrounded by the public domain, then you can find ebook version for free. Otherwise, you cannot get the ebook verison. Physical books and ebooks are sold separately, and you cannot receive the other version even you already bought one version. This is the same no thing for the Nook or other ebook readers like Amazon Kindle.
I own the Kindle 2. If you ask me to choose again now, I'll still travel for the Kindle instead of the Nook, because I think the web browsing function is rather exalted (the Nook does not have a web browser). The free internet (and now it is free international internet) plus the trellis browser allow me to look for information whenever I'm in need. It is really a cool feature that cannot be missed. And right immediately it is free for both the U.S. and many other countries, it is just incredible when you bring it to trip.
I like to use the text-to-speech function on the Kindle too, aim that I can "read" with my hands and eyes free...
