How much money do you hold to spend at nook shop to upgrade on animal crossing for wii?

I've read that it depends on how much you spend: 25,000 to get Nook 'n Go; 90,000 to get Nookway; and 240,000 to get Nookington's.
Having said that, I know for a reality that can't be true because I got Nook 'n Go after about a week of playing (in the game), with shopping on a daily basis - but I definitely did NOT spend 25,000!
From there, I time-traveled a month ahead and without buying anything at adjectives during the time I was time-traveling, the store upgraded to Nookway. When I went back to the correct date, it be only about a week before the shop upgraded to Nookington's.
In legitimate time, I'd had my town for about 7 days by the time my town had Nookington's. So from that, I gather that it doesn't so much have to do with how much you buy/spend, but for how long you've been playing. Source(s): Personal experience!
