How do you download ebooks on to your nook?
Do you plug it in to the computer or something?

You can download the books directly to the Nook through its free wireless network. You should also be capable of get it from your computer, though this is not mentioned in their sale page.
For international issue, you can look at the question "Can I use my nook while traveling abroad?" in the allowed page here:

That means you can still download books which is already in your account, when you can find Wi-Fi spot outside of the U.S. However, you'll not be capable of buy new books.
Actually I'll choose the Amazon Kindle myself. It comes with free international wireless. You can read an article here, it mentions about Barnes and Nobles and other ebook reader at the end of the article:

It has a wireless network close to the kindle 2, so it doesn't need to be plugged in. You just poke the "shop" button.
Kindle2 have it internationally, but I don't know about Nook Source(s): nook.com
